I am no master couponer but I do try and save as much money as possible when I’m grocery shopping. I feel like I can never leave the store without spending at least $100.00. It’s ridiculous. I have three main resources that I use to optimize my money saving. Two of which are apps on my phone and one is online.
The main app that I use is the Walmart app. In your app store you want to look up Walmart – Savings Catcher.
I really love this app. It’s super easy to use and I have saved the most money using this app than the other app that I use. This is especially awesome for me because I mainly only shop at Walmart. With this app you take a picture of the receipt and it will shop around for better deals at other stores. If it finds a better deal it will give you money back. It credits it to your Walmart account and you can redeem it through the App or online. It’s by far my favorite app.
You want to click “services” on the bottom tab; and then you want to click the green piggy. This where you upload your receipt or check your account balance.
It’s super easy and like I said it’s the fastest way I’ve saved money while grocery shopping. It would be perfect to use when it comes time for Christmas or birthday shopping.
The next app I use is Checkout 51. It’s a lot like the Walmart app except that you can use it at several different stores and not just Walmart. You take a picture of the receipt and click through the coupons that it has on the app to redeem the ones that you used.
It has taken me a lot longer to save up money on this App to get a pay out from it because there are a lot of coupons for products that I don’t use. It is really great though and I’ve heard of many people saving a lot of money with this app.
The last resource I use is online. It’s call coupon.com. This site provides a large selection of printable coupons for free. I don’t get the Sunday news paper so this is great for me plus I can get on whenever I want to select the coupons that I’ll use.
I use all three of these together to get the most out of my grocery shopping. Thankfully my son is only five and doesn’t eat me out of house and home yet. Let me know if you know of any other great ways to save money while grocery shopping! I’m always looking to save money at the grocery store.
